COMPANY HISTORY |
Adkins Electric, Inc. was founded on October 17, 1977 by Virgil M. Adkins as a single family and small commercial electrical contractor.
By the mid 1980's Adkins Electric had become one of Jacksonville's most competitive multi-family and mid-size commercial electrical contractors in Florida.
Over the last 30+ years, we have amassed a staff of professionals in every area to handle all your electrical needs. Our electricians are absolutely the best in the business!
Today we excel in both commercial and multi-family, averaging 3000 units per year, doing some of the largest commercial projects in Jacksonville.

| SAFETY PHILOSOPHY |
Adkins Electric, Inc. has a long-standing philosophy of taking pride in its practices to ensure the safety, health and well-being of all our employees.
Work related injuries are always costly to the individual worker and often disastrous to his/her future and to the security of their family. Work related injuries are also costly to the company, both in direct financial burdens and in the reduction of efficiency. It is the firm and continuing policy of the management of Adkins Electric that construction accidents shall be reduced or eliminated by the use of every reasonable precaution and by aggressive promotion of safe practices within the company.
Adkins Electric also expects our employees to possess a proactive attitude regarding their work place safety. Every employee has an important place in the safety program and is expected to cooperate fully in these measures by personally assuming the responsibility for individual and organizational safety. Each employee is expected to become familiar with the safety and emergency procedures for their respective work areas and operation of company equipment including large field equipment and motor vehicles.

| DRUG FREE WORKPLACE PROGRAM |
Adkins Electric, Inc. has an established Drug-Free Workplace Program and extensively promotes it in order to maximize productivity, enhance our competitive position in the marketplace, and reach the levels of success we desire without experiencing the costs, delays, and tragedies associated with work-related accidents resulting from drug and alcohol abuse by employees.
The companies Drug-Free Workplace Program strongly discourages all of our employees from engaging in the use of illegal drugs, either on or off the job, and the abuse of alcohol while on the job. Employees who engage in the use of illegal drugs or alcohol abuse face the risk of termination and forfeiture of workers’ compensation benefits. Adkins Electric exercises the Drug-Free Workplace Program by performing pre-employment drug screenings on all new hires and random drug tests on any employee(s) at management’s discretion.
